The Morocco-Portugal-Spain Joint Bid Committee for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, YallaVamos2030, gathered in Agadir on June 27-28 for a progress meeting and site inspections. The primary goal of this meeting was to finalize adjustments to the joint bid before the final submission to FIFA by the end of July.
During its discussions, the tripartite committee also reiterated that no final decisions have been made regarding the number of stadiums, their geographical distribution, or the allocation of matches by country. Any official information on these matters will be communicated through official channels.
On the first day, representatives from each bid committee visited several key locations in Agadir, including the city's Grand Stadium. The delegation also assessed potential sites for the FIFA Fan Festival, with Agadir's iconic beach considered one of the top choices. Additionally, Taghazout, a popular seaside resort, was explored as a potential location for team base camps.
The second day, Friday, June 28, began with an online meeting between the Steering Committee and FIFA representatives, focusing on the bid process and its progress. This was followed by in-depth working sessions within the tripartite committee to review various aspects and finalize adjustments to the bid dossier.
The committee emphasizes the excellent collaboration among all stakeholders involved in the joint bid. They further stressed their commitment to working closely with FIFA and local authorities in each country to present a strong final bid for the 2030 World Cup.
