April saw the latest in a series of meetings between the Moroccan, Portuguese and Spanish FAs, as preparations continue to deliver the best ever FIFA World Cup.
One month after announcing the visual identify of the bid, including the ‘YallaVamos’ slogan, and bid’s team of Ambassadors, Bid Business Units from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) came together at the RFEF Headquarters in Madrid to advance the technical elements of the bid. The meeting was the latest example of close collaboration between the three FAs, underscoring their dedication to create the most comprehensive and inspiring FIFA World Cup bid to date.
The submission of the bid book, in July 2024, represents the next key milestone in the FIFA World Cup 2030™ bid process. The bid book provides FIFA with a range of essential information about the proposed tournament in 2030, including details on potential stadiums, training sites and accommodation facilities, as well as processes to engage key stakeholders and ensure the protection of human rights and sustainability standards.
Reflecting on the recent series of meetings between the Federations, YallaVamos Bid Coordinator, Antonio Laranjo, reflected positively on the progress of the bid so far, stating: “We are already seeing the benefits of having three ambitious, football-loving countries working together. By bringing our new perspectives together, and being united by a common goal, we are more confident than ever in our ambition to develop an unparalleled FIFA World Cup bid. We look forward to sharing further details about our ambitious plans as we progress through the formal process.”
Following the bid book submission, FIFA is expected to conduct formal site visits to the host Federations in Q3 2024, setting the stage for the final selection of the FIFA World Cup 2030™ hosts during the FIFA Congress in Q4.
