Spain produced a great display in the EURO 2024 final in Berlin to win the country’s fourth European championship in history, and third in the last five editions. Goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal gave the team a 2-1 win over England.

The final completed a perfect tournament for La Roja, who won every one of their seven matches, including over fellow European giants Italy, France and hosts Germany. The team also broke the country’s record for most goals in the finals of a major competition, with an impressive total of 15. Spanish players also completed the sweep of individual awards at the tournament, with midfielder Rodri winning Player of the Tournament, Dani Olmo declared Top Goalscorer, and young superstar Lamine Yamal winning Young Player of the Tournament.

Reflecting on the famous victory, Alvaro Morata, Captain of the National Team and YallaVamos 2030 Ambassador, paid tribute to the support across the country, saying, "Thank you to all the people who have believed and supported us. Positive messages lead to positive things. Spain believed in us to the hilt. I hope they are proud of this team, of everything that is coming in the future, because you have seen it.”

The EURO 2024 victory marks the latest in a fine era for Spanish football, bringing three European Championship victories in the last five editions of the EURO, as well as FIFA World Cup™ victories for both the men’s and women’s team in 2010 and 2023 respectively.

Elsewhere in the period of international football, fellow YallaVamos colleagues Portugal put up a brave fight in their EURO campaign, fishing top of their Group before exiting to France in the Quarter Finals on penalties.

Morocco, meanwhile, continued their ascent, with dominant victories over Zambia (2-1) and Congo (6-0) in their qualification campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Morocco currently sit top of their qualifying group, with the next round of matches to be played in March 2025.
